New books, new podcast season on the anvil

How hard can it be for a writer to write a newsletter?

Actually, very. VERY. Muy dificil.

Maybe because a newsletter calls for a certain cadence and consistency, and writers also have their own deadlines but can often work in a different sort of space-time continuum, if you ask me. There's regular time and then there's this weirdly condensed writing time. And you can't just write at the drop of a hat, obvs.

You need your muse. Your particular chair, the particular slant of light (ok ok I'm just being fussy...but sometimes it's just vibezzzz.)

But no, you do need your muse. AND you need to have something to say.

Which I now do.

Do let me know what you think!
  2. In huge news, new books are coming from Say Again Press (the imprint I kicked off earlier this year, which is now bringing out books in partnership with Bloomsbury!)
    1. We have the first Say Again Mythos title coming out: I, Shivani by Anu Singh.

I cannot thank Kamna Chhibber, Abhishek Kumar enough for co-authoring with me. And the wonderful Anirudh Kumar, Ashwin Sanghi, Nandita Gurjar and Swarnima Bhattacharya thank you ever so much for sharing your insights. Please admire the gorgeous design by Devangana Dash!

Stay tuned for pre-orders and more information on launches... coming soon.

Emotions are not something to be scared of in the workplace. A good leader knows exactly how to regulate their own emotions, and ensure the wellbeing of their teams. Whether that means staying calm in a crisis, finding an emotional reserve deep within to steady the ship, or taking tough decisions and communicating them without getting personal, a good leader is one you would bet on, time and again. With a keen understanding of mental health in the workplace, clinical psychologist Dr Kamna Chhibber addresses some of the common patterns, challenges and pain points in the workplace. With strategic inputs from Health Collective founder and series editor Amrita Tripathi, this book shares essential lessons on dealing with stress, managing conflict, building resilience, and shares tips on giving and receiving feedback-a must-read for any manager. Short reads on leadership, uniquely well-designed: This is Book 3 in the Say Again Essentials series, brought to you by Say Again Press.

About the book:

Phew! I need a nap. Meanwhile, sharing my shortlist here...

#NowReading/ Watching/ Playing

My vibe right now is Mumford and Sons, on an old ipod - my beloved classic, much-lost and dented over the years.

And I’m reading a Ben Macintyre next (The Spy and the Traitor), having devoured my last Mick Herron (which sadly my dog also decided to chew up sigh.)

What didn’t work for me was Belle Burden’s memoir, Strangers. Oh well.
Hope the books–and muse!–find you when you need them to. Let me know what you've been reading/ watching/ enjoying and see you soon.
