To kick off, I hope you and yours had an absolutely lovely Diwali, and here's wishing for more light, hope and prosperity going forward, for all.

It's hard to stay focused on light and hope amidst all the doom and gloom, though isn't it. Hard to stay on mission when there are so many things on a macro- and micro-level that threaten to send us into disarray. Global strife, market upheaval, conflict, inter-personal dynamics ... and I'll add to the mix social media anxiety! Everyone is always looking like they're doing better than you.

Slow it Down

I've decided to pull back a bit (a BIT I say) from following and sharing, except for what's on point for the mission. At a recent talk I asked if folks had seen that meme where a therapist asks a client, "What do you do when you're stressed?" (or something to that effect).

And yes, you guessed it... the answer was "Add to cart."

Sadly, this is not a sustainable fix, and I guess we can go into techno-capitalism and emotional health in more detail soon for those who want to but I'm pulling the plug on this as best I can.

Apart from my rallying cry of 'Hijack your attention back', please remember that 'You are not a Product', that everything does *not require you to upgrade, and you do *not need to compare yourself to other people. Not ever, and certainly not the way we do these days, where it's all insecurities on full display on crack, with infinite scroll ensuring the hamster wheel never stops.

Phew. If you're reading till now, building in a pause here for some zen. Take a few seconds for yourself. :) And then plunge further into this monthly chronicle of interesting things that have happened and fascinating articles/ books to delve into.
