April: The Best and Worst of Times

April: The Best and Worst of Times
Gotta keep moving...New Delhi Railway Station

This is without doubt my favourite month of all time, but every year living in Delhi, as we do, it's a scorcher that puts my love of April to the test. There's no point complaining, as someone recently said, it's not like the weather ever gets better – summers just get worse and worse and we keep cranking up our AC's and commuting in AC cars oblivious to the impact on the climate... a vicious circle.

Anyway, who wants to talk about the weather? Not me!

This month's newsletter (need a better word here, what do you think of missive? or just letter?) includes one of my favourite people on one of my favourite podcast episodes. Also as always, things I've been reading/ watching, but also some of the tougher things to think about – building anything is difficult!! 😮‍💨 Since everyone and their uncle has an opinion on Hon Min Piyush Goyal's comments on the Indian startup ecosystem vs China's, I'm not going to weigh in there except to say that it's tough at all levels!

But guess what, even before that brouhaha, we had a really interesting conversation to share on the India-China lessons to be learned. This is Abhishek Kumar, a CEO and someone who's been to China multiple times and worked closely within the startup ecosystem. I'd love to have you join the thousands of other viewers to watch this episode – maybe focus on these time stamps for the China bits and what we can learn, as well as common mistakes we make as startup founders (yes, I have a teeny tiny startup. Also yes, I do kick off the episode by saying this is a special one)
